Don Green
Expertise:
Don Green currently serves both as a consultant for Savant Learning System’s Virtual Academy and works with the Blount County Sheriff’s Office. He previously was the Director for the University of Tennessee’s Law Enforcement Innovation Center as well as a 30-year career with the Knoxville Police Department. His last role at KPD was as Deputy Chief over the Criminal Investigation Division. He has been actively involved with numerous law enforcement professional organizations such as the Police Executive Research Forum, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association and the FBI National Academy. While involved at the NA, Green served as one of the initial participants in their Leadership Fellows Program, instructing during Sessions 202 and 203, before graduating as a member of the 204th Session. Green has provided law enforcement instruction on Leadership, Domestic Preparedness, Homeland Security, School Safety, working with such groups as the F.B.I., Fox Valley Technical College, LEIC, TACP, and others. He has a B.S. degree in Psychology and an M.S. degree in Criminal Justice from the University of TN, as well as an Ed.S. degree from Lincoln Memorial University. He is a graduate of the Senior Management Institute for Police and U.T.’s Leadership Academy.
