Security Assessment for Places of Worship
This course is intended to give officers the knowledge to perform a safety and security assessment for any religious facility in their jurisdiction. In the U.S. almost 58% of places of worship have less than 100 members in attendance during a regular worship service. There are many vulnerabilities, besides shootings, that a place of worship may have without realizing it.

Ron Aguiar began his law enforcement career as an officer at Hawaii Police Department before going into corporate security for an international pizza chain. He then spent over 19 years as Director of Safety and Security for one of the ten largest churches in the U.S., with over 20,000 members and 1 million square feet of facility to secure. Ron has his own security consulting company, Oasis Safety. He is also the author of the book “Keeping Your Church Safe.”
