Dru Clarke started as a telecommunicator with Fairfax County in 2013 where he became a calltaker, police and fire dispatcher, CTO, DCJS instructor, EMDi, quality assurance specialist, Training Instructor, and Operations Supervisor. Dru has a passion for the people, and through his instructorships he creates impactful continuous educational seminars that inspire lasting change.
Retired Chief Tim Christol is owner and CEO of Edgeway Strategies Inc; a training and consulting service targeting public safety and corporate developmental strategies. His law enforcement career spans 40 years where he has served six and one-half years as Chief of Police with the City of Red Bank, TN, and two years as Police Chief for the City of Fletcher, NC. He previously retired as an Assistant Chief Deputy, after thirty years of service with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office in Knoxville, TN. He served as an Adjunct Faculty of Sociology at Tusculum College and in Criminal Justice Administration at Walters State Community College for 12 years.
Christine Massengale is a Public Safety Communications Leader with over 27 years of progressive experience and increasing responsibility, including 17 years combined in supervisory and training/quality assurance roles. She is an Emergency Number Professional (ENP) and Registered Public Safety Leader (RPL), both professional certifications which enhance her training and technical knowledge to successfully manage the four consolidated dispatch centers for the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Her first-hand experience working with Public Safety P25 Land Mobile Radio and Broadband communications as a front-line operator, Communications Unit Leader (COML), tactical dispatcher, instructor, and supervisor give her the necessary insight to understand the communications needs and capabilities of both dispatch and field personnel. She makes technology and purchasing recommendations and signs off on division expenditures. She prioritizes and manages a broad range of responsibilities and deadlines to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of performance and compliance to internal processes and industry standards.
Doug Showalter worked for the California Highway Patrol in their communications centers all over the state for 30 years before retiring in 2019. He co-founded Showalter & Company with his wife Jill in 2015. Showalter & Company is a professional speaking/training business specializing in delivering high-energy motivation, education, and training programs to those in public service. Their mission is to engage, motivate, and educate using their unique brand of humor and real experience to provide invaluable information that will change how you do business and help you stay relevant in a changing world.
With over 25 years of executive coaching, speaking, and real-life business experience, Carl’s passion lies in developing people to realize their capacity and potential to succeed. Leslie Whitham, ENP has worked in the public safety field for more than 31 years. Leslie is a longtime supervisor and instructor who values ongoing professional and personal development with a belief in the importance of camaraderie amongst 9‐1 ‐1 professionals.
