Virtual Academy Advanced Training Solutions has announced the promotion of Chris Carden to National Director.  Earlier this summer, Mr. Carden joined Virtual Academy as the Regional Director, and Virtual Academy began to increase its reach across the United States, especially in the South. Carden, a resident of Alabama and retired police chief, will transition to lead Virtual Academy’s national efforts and communicate the value Virtual Academy brings to law enforcement and public safety leaders.

Chris brings over 20 years of service in law enforcement and military to this role and will improve all aspects of training, engagement, partner support, and service to our finest in blue and beyond.”

     Carden served the City of Sylacauga, Alabama for 21 years. He left his post as chief in 2015 after he was appointed by Alabama's Attorney General to serve as the statewide law enforcement coordinator. Mr. Carden remained in that role until reaching his retirement. He has a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration and is a graduate of the 215th session of the FBI National Academy.

     When asked about his new position, Carden commented, "Being able to continue to serve law enforcement, especially on a national level, is quite an honor.
