About the Course

EVOC: 2020 is a Tennessee-specific course that teaches officers how to drive more professionally. The course starts in the classroom to introduce the basics of Emergency Vehicle Operations, covering topics like liability, relevant changes to TN laws, and vehicle dynamics. Then, the course will go out to a driving track where the trainers demonstrate driving drills that will push the limits of an officer’s driving ability.

Josh Blair

Lt. Josh Blair, Director of Training, has been in law enforcement for 20 years. He was transferred in 2009 to the Blount County Sheriff's Office Training Academy as a full-time staff instructor. Since then, he has worked his way up to lieutenant and director of training.
